Beef Stroganoff

A lot of times cravings determine what we make. At this time, James was craving beef stroganoff, so, we made beef stroganoff. The recipe was a combination of his mom’s recipe and a couple variations and pieces of other recipes James found online. He started by slicing the beef then cooking in a pan on the stove – setting aside when done, then sautéing  some onion, garlic and mushroom with butter. These things were then combined in a baking dish with cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and egg noodles (that were boiled prior to baking), as well as some cracked black pepper and white pepper. The dish baked in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, creating a delicious casserole complete with those crispy noodles on top. Each bite was as savory as could be and paired great with a glass of red wine.
